On October 29, 2019, at the “FY2019 Commendation for Contributors to the Promotion of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle” held at KKR Hotel Tokyo, Yamaichi Metal Co., Ltd. received the “President’s Award of the Council for Promoting Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.”
This award targets individuals, groups, schools, and companies that contribute to the promotion of the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) and are particularly outstanding in terms of regionality, originality, and pioneering efforts. It has been implemented since 1992 to encourage future activities. The Council for Promoting Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle, which hosts the award, is supported by seven related ministries, including the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry.

Yamaichi Metal has honed its technical skills through extensive research, development, and investigation in fields such as “efficient aluminum can recycling without melting” and “recycling laminated aluminum foil, which was considered industrial waste.”
To date, we have recycled and reprocessed over 450,000 tons of aluminum cans and more than 100,000 tons of laminated aluminum foil.
Our company’s management philosophy of “Coexistence and Co-prosperity” aims to ensure that “our customers, resources, environment, society, and Yamaichi Metal” all benefit and prosper together by utilizing our unique recycling technology.
To broaden the scope of “Coexistence and Co-prosperity,” we will continue to engage in new technological innovations.

Participation in the Celebration Hosted by the Aluminum Can Recycling Association
After the award ceremony, we participated in a celebration hosted by the Aluminum Can Recycling Association. Established in February 1973, the Aluminum Can Recycling Association is a historic association that aims to contribute to natural environment protection by promoting the recycling of aluminum cans and making effective use of resources and energy.
We enjoyed a wonderful celebration, with a toast from Chairman Tashiro. At the celebration, discussions flourished around the themes of aluminum can recycling and the effective use of PET bottles and other resources. We exchanged opinions and ideas on how we should address future environmental issues as a company and as an association, sharing examples from various companies and municipalities.

Yamaichi Metal will continue to collaborate with municipalities and companies through the aluminum recycling business, working towards building a circular society.
