WHAT’s
RECYCLE ALUMINUM ?

"Recycled aluminum is
the ultimate material."

We believe so.
Recycled aluminum is a material derived from 100% scrap.
And it is a material that can be infinitely recycled with almost zero environmental impact.
Recycled aluminum is the "hero" that creates a future
where production activities can be carried out without burdening the Earth.

Why is recycled aluminum a hero?
WHY HERO ?
Infinite Recycling
HERO 01

Aluminum can be recycled infinitely because it barely degrades through the process. However, since different materials are used for the pull tab and the body of aluminum cans, separation is necessary to maintain the purity of the recycled aluminum.

Yamaichi Metals enables closed-loop recycling, where aluminum cans are continuously regenerated into new cans, through its technology for separating these materials.
No Industrial Waste
HERO 02

In the process of extracting new aluminum from underground resources (bauxite), a large amount of hazardous industrial waste known as "red mud" is generated. On the other hand, using recycled aluminum can prevent this.

Furthermore, Yamaichi Metals reduces industrial waste to "zero" by carefully extracting impurities and by-products generated during the recycling process and turning them into valuable materials.
99.9% Reduction in Energy Consumption
HERO 03

The process of extracting aluminum from bauxite consumes a large amount of electricity, but using recycled aluminum significantly reduces this energy consumption.

Yamaichi Metals reduces electricity consumption by 99.9% with its technology that avoids the energy-intensive recycling process of "smelting."
Able to Achieve Zero CO2 Emissions
HERO 04

The process of extracting aluminum from bauxite requires a large amount of electricity, resulting in significant CO2 emissions. However, recycled aluminum addresses this issue.

Yamaichi Metals reduces CO2 emissions by 97.3% with its technology that avoids the "smelting" process (as of May 2022).
If aluminum cans are not recycled and new aluminum is produced instead...?
BETTER THAN NEW
Hazardous Industrial Waste
Per 1 ton of new ingots 2.4t

In the process of extracting aluminum from underground resources (bauxite), a large amount of hazardous industrial waste known as "red mud" is generated.Red mud is highly alkaline and contains heavy metals, making it hazardous enough to have caused fatalities in past spill incidents.

Electricity
Per 1 ton of new ingots 15,000kWh

The process of extracting aluminum from bauxite consumes a large amount of electricity. Producing the electricity needed to refine 1 ton of aluminum through thermal power generation consumes approximately 35,000 tons of coal.

Carbon dioxide
Per 1 ton of new ingots 9.24t

The process of extracting aluminum from bauxite releases a significant amount of CO2. The CO2 emissions from refining 1 ton of aluminum are equivalent to the amount of CO2 absorbed by approximately 656 cedar trees in one year.

ALUMINUM CAN RECYCLE

Our aluminum can recycling business is based on a unique dry smelting method that involves crushing used aluminum cans, removing metals like iron and copper as well as impurities like sand, stripping off the paint printed on the cans, and pelletizing the material. Compared to direct aluminum smelting, this recycling method has a higher primary yield.

ALUMINUM FOIL RECYCLE

We were selected as an implementing company for the "Waste Utilization Development and Expansion Project," allowing us to conduct technical research on recycling aluminum laminate foil. By recycling aluminum laminate foil, we contribute to environmental protection and the effective use of resources.
